Palm Pre App Catalog Starts Slow

The Palm Pre has a long way to go to catch up with the iPhone catalog as there are only 30 apps in the catalog right now, according to Wired.com. The iPhone has over 50,000 apps in it's app store right now. The low user rate of the Pre has been the cause of low amount of apps available as well as an open SDK for programmers to work with. This will probably improve greatly as more people sign up for the Pre and the SDK is made available.

Accuweather App for Palm Pre

When on the go it's important to know how the weather is going to be where you are going. With this attractive weather app, you can not only make your plans on the go, but check the weather outside before venturing out. This app makes the best possible use of the Pre's high-res screen. You get a lot of weather data, and it looks great, with white text on a black background, a five-day forecast on the main screen, and high-res icons.

Also, creating a custom list of your favorite locales is a cinch with hourly forecasts and a weather radar. "Specialty weather" ratings tells you whether it's a good day for anything from going to the beach to mowing your lawn. wing.

PC Mag points out that
This could become a tour de force with just a little more synergy—wouldn't it be great if you could seamlessly check the weather from a calendar event? Here's hoping.
